About RDAs

Unlike a traditional vape where a vape tank holds the e-liquid, RDAs have only a small juice well and require vapers to manually drip e-liquid onto the coils and wicking. While some vapers may consider it too much hassle to have to drip new e-liquid into their vape after every few puffs, others enjoy vaping using RDAs because of the superior flavour and vapour clouds.

Moreover, because the e-liquid is vaporised so quickly, RDA vapes can change frequently between vaping different e-liquid flavours without having to drain and clean an entire vape tank.

RDAs also have a build deck where you can install single or dual coils. You can build your own vape coils using coil wire, cotton, and tools or choose from our selection of pre-built vape coils. Single coil builds are easier to get the hang of so we recommend starting with an RDA that can be built with a single vape coil.

RDA FAQs

RDAs are best used with a high VG e-liquid which will provide great flavours and vapour clouds. Some of our personal favourite e-liquids with a high VG content are the Wick Liquor e-liquid range and the Riot Squad Punx e-liquids, but the choice is up to you!

If this is your first RDA, we recommend starting out with a single coil build. This is because dual coil RDAs require you to build two identical coils, which can be difficult for first-timers. It's also a good idea to pick an RDA with an accessible deck because this will also make building easier.

If you're new to rebuildables, we recommend starting out with the Vaperz Cloud Asgard Mini or the Asgard 30mm RDA. These are top-performing rebuildable dripping atomisers but they are also easy to build single and dual coil setups. They both have a semi-postless design with 2.5mm x 3.0mm post holes which make coil installation a breeze, while the quick-release squonk pin allows you to switch rapidly from dripping to squonk mode.

Many RDAs include a bottom feed squonk pin so that they can be used with a squonk mod. The key difference between regular vape mods and squonk mods is that squonk mods have space for a bottle of e-liquid that feeds up to the coils from below. This means that you can enjoy vaping the amazing flavours and vapours of a dripper without having to drip new e-liquid into the atomiser after every few puffs.

RDAs, RTAs, and RDTAs are all types of rebuildables but they have key differences.

While RDAs do not have a vape tank and instead require you to drip e-juice onto the coil, RTAs or Rebuildable Tank Atomisers have a vape tank to hold e-liquid. They have a chimney that routes vapour to the drip tip. Often considered more user-friendly than RDAs, RTAs do not provide the same level of vapour that RDA lovers enjoy.

RDTAs, also known as Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomisers, combine the best of both RDAs and RTAs. These have a vape tank to contain e-juice but also use an auto-dripper that adds e-liquid to the wick and coil when you press on the drip tip.
