Description - Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 Pod Vape Kit
The Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 Pod Vape Kit is a compact yet powerful pod mod combining a 2000mAh built-in battery, adjustable 5–50W output and Geekvape’s durable IP68-rated Aegis construction. Designed primarily for restricted direct-to-lung and direct-to-lung vaping, the Hero 5 delivers increased power and battery capacity while remaining small enough for comfortable everyday use.
The kit includes a UK-compliant 2ml refillable Hero 5 pod and two upgraded Geekvape B Series Boost coils. The 0.2Ω coil delivers a warmer DTL vape at up to 50W on the Hero 5, while the 0.4Ω coil operates at 25–35W for a smoother RDL inhale. Adjustable airflow, Smart Mode, manual wattage control and a physical A-Lock switch give you control over both performance and everyday safety.
Compared with the previous Geekvape H45, the Aegis Hero 5 increases maximum output from 45W to 50W and raises battery capacity from 1400mAh to 2000mAh. It is a practical choice for vapers who want the strength and flexibility of a larger vape kit in a more portable refillable pod vape.

Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 IP68 Design
The Geekvape Aegis range is known for producing durable devices that are better suited to demanding everyday use. The Hero 5 continues this approach with an IP68-rated body designed to resist water, dust and accidental impacts.
Its zinc alloy construction provides a strong outer frame, while the textured grip helps the device remain secure in your hand. At approximately 90g, the Hero 5 feels substantial without becoming as heavy or bulky as a full-sized dual-battery vape mod.
The IP68 rating makes the Hero 5 particularly suitable for outdoor work, travel and active lifestyles. It should still be handled responsibly, however. Water resistance is not an invitation to charge or operate the device while wet, and the USB-C port should always be completely dry before charging.
2000mAh Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 Battery
The Hero 5 contains a 2000mAh built-in battery, representing an increase of more than 40% over the 1400mAh battery used by the previous H45. The increased capacity helps balance the higher power demands of the included sub-ohm coils.
Battery life will depend heavily on the selected coil, wattage and frequency of use. The 0.4Ω coil at 25–35W will generally provide longer use between charges than the 0.2Ω coil running at the device’s maximum 50W output.
Geekvape states that a 30-minute charge can provide up to seven days of use under its own test conditions. This should not be interpreted as a guaranteed seven-day battery life or a guaranteed 30-minute full charge. Real-world performance will vary considerably depending on wattage, puff length and daily use.
Charging is handled through a USB-C connection supporting up to 5V/2A. For safe charging, place the device on a hard, non-flammable surface and avoid leaving it charging unattended or overnight.
Adjustable 5–50W Power Output
The Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 offers adjustable output between 5W and 50W. This gives the device enough flexibility to support the included RDL and DTL coils as well as selected higher-resistance coils from the wider Geekvape B Series.
Smart Mode detects the resistance of the installed coil and helps select an appropriate power range. This is useful for newer users because it reduces the risk of accidentally setting an unsuitable wattage.
Experienced users can use variable wattage control to adjust the warmth, flavour intensity and vapour production manually. Start near the bottom of the coil’s recommended range and increase the power gradually rather than immediately selecting the maximum setting.
Geekvape B Series Boost Coils
The Aegis Hero 5 uses removable push-fit Geekvape B Series coils. The upgraded Boost versions are designed to improve flavour consistency and usable coil lifespan compared with the previous generation.
Geekvape states that the new Boost coils can process up to 40ml of e-liquid under its testing conditions, compared with approximately 20ml for the previous coil. Actual coil life will vary according to wattage, e-liquid sweetness, VG ratio and vaping frequency.
| Included coil | Recommended power | Vaping style | Suggested e-liquid |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.2Ω B Series Boost | 50W on the Hero 5 Coil rated 50–58W | DTL | Lower-strength, high-VG e-liquid |
| 0.4Ω B Series Boost | 25–35W | RDL | Lower-strength 50/50 or 70VG e-liquid |
0.2Ω B Series Boost Coil
The included 0.2Ω coil is intended for direct-to-lung vaping. It creates a warm inhale with increased airflow, dense vapour and a stronger flavour delivery.
The coil itself is marked with a recommended range of 50–58W, but the Aegis Hero 5 has a maximum output of 50W. It should therefore be operated at 50W when used in this kit.
Use a low nicotine strength because this coil produces a large volume of vapour with each inhale. A 70VG shortfill at 0mg, 3mg or another suitably low strength will normally be the most appropriate choice.
0.4Ω B Series Boost Coil
The 0.4Ω coil operates between 25W and 35W and delivers a more restricted RDL inhale. It produces less vapour than the 0.2Ω option while retaining a warm vape and strong flavour.
This option will normally provide better battery life and reduced e-liquid consumption compared with the 0.2Ω coil. Lower-strength 50/50 liquids and compatible 70VG shortfills can both be used, depending on the preferred airflow and power setting.
High-strength nicotine salts are not recommended with either included coil because both operate at relatively high power. Vapers who want to use stronger nic salts should select a compatible higher-resistance B Series coil and reduce the wattage accordingly.
Replaceable Push-Fit Coil System
The Hero 5 pod does not need to be discarded every time the coil reaches the end of its life. The B Series coil is removed from the bottom of the pod and replaced separately, making the system more economical than a cartridge with a permanently integrated coil.
How to Change the Geekvape Hero 5 Coil
- Remove the Hero 5 pod from the device.
- Ensure the pod contains as little e-liquid as possible.
- Pull the used coil out from the base of the pod.
- Add a small amount of e-liquid to the visible cotton on the new coil.
- Push the new coil firmly into the base of the pod.
- Check that the coil sits flat and creates a secure seal.
- Fill the pod and leave it upright for approximately five to ten minutes.
- Begin at the bottom of the recommended wattage range.
Priming the coil and allowing it to absorb e-liquid before use helps prevent dry hits and premature burning.
Adjustable MTL, RDL and DTL Airflow
The Aegis Hero 5 uses a three-position airflow control to change how restricted or open the inhale feels. This allows you to move between a tighter draw, a balanced RDL inhale and a more open DTL vape.
- Tighter setting: Provides a more restricted inhale when using a suitable higher-resistance B Series coil.
- Middle setting: Suits RDL vaping with the included 0.4Ω coil.
- Open setting: Provides the airflow required for DTL vaping with the included 0.2Ω coil.
The two coils supplied with the kit are primarily intended for RDL and DTL use. For a genuine lower-power MTL experience with nicotine salts, fit a compatible higher-resistance Geekvape B Series coil.
Read our guides to MTL and DTL vaping and restricted direct-to-lung vaping for a full comparison of the different inhale styles.
Top-Filling 2ml Hero 5 Pod
The UK version of the Aegis Hero 5 is supplied with a TPD-compliant 2ml refillable pod. Its top-filling design allows the cartridge to be refilled without repeatedly removing it from the device.
How to Fill the Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 Pod
- Open the silicone filling seal on the top of the pod.
- Insert the e-liquid bottle nozzle into the filling port.
- Fill the pod without exceeding its 2ml capacity.
- Close the silicone seal firmly.
- Wipe away any e-liquid from the outside of the pod.
- Allow a newly fitted coil to stand for five to ten minutes before use.
Do not place e-liquid into the central airflow opening. Keeping the fill seal clean and fully closed will help reduce leaking.
A-Lock Safety Switch
The physical A-Lock switch prevents the Hero 5 from firing accidentally while being carried in a pocket or bag. Sliding the lock into position disables the firing control without requiring you to navigate through an on-screen menu.
This is an important upgrade over the previous H45 and provides a quick way to secure the device before carrying it. The device should still be switched off when stored for extended periods.
Which E-Liquid Should You Use?
The most suitable vape juice depends on the installed B Series coil.
For the Included 0.2Ω Coil
- Best suited to 70VG shortfill e-liquids
- Use a low nicotine strength
- Designed for open-airflow DTL vaping
- Not recommended for 10mg or 20mg nicotine salts
For the Included 0.4Ω Coil
- Suitable for lower-strength 50/50 or 70VG liquids
- Designed for RDL vaping
- Use a lower nicotine strength due to its vapour output
- Avoid high-strength nic salts at 25–35W
For Higher-Resistance B Series Coils
Compatible higher-resistance B Series coils can be used at lower power for a tighter inhale. These options are more suitable for nic salt e-liquids and standard 50/50 vape juice.
Always follow the wattage range printed on the installed coil rather than relying on the settings used with a previous resistance.
How to Use the Geekvape Aegis Hero 5
- Charge the device using the supplied USB-C cable.
- Select the correct B Series coil for your preferred vaping style.
- Prime the visible cotton with a small amount of e-liquid.
- Push the coil firmly into the bottom of the pod.
- Fill the pod through the top filling port.
- Wait approximately five to ten minutes.
- Insert the pod into the device.
- Unlock the A-Lock safety switch.
- Use Smart Mode or select a suitable wattage manually.
- Adjust the airflow to your preferred draw.
- Press and hold the firing button while inhaling.
Do not allow the e-liquid level to fall below the coil’s cotton openings. Running the pod nearly empty can cause the coil to dry out and develop a burnt taste.

Who Is the Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 For?
The Aegis Hero 5 is best suited to intermediate and experienced vapers who want adjustable power and airflow without carrying a full-sized vape mod. The included coils make it particularly suitable for RDL and DTL users who prefer warmer vapour and stronger flavour.
Its IP68 construction also makes it a practical option for outdoor workers, travellers and anyone who needs a device with increased protection against dust, moisture and accidental knocks.
Beginners can use Smart Mode to simplify wattage selection, although the amount of vapour produced by the included coils makes this more advanced than a basic low-powered starter pod. New vapers seeking a cigarette-style draw may prefer a lower-powered MTL kit or should use a suitable higher-resistance B Series coil.
Read our beginner’s guide to vape kits before selecting your first refillable device.
Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 Compared with the H45
| Feature | Aegis Hero 5 | Geekvape H45 |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum output | 50W | 45W |
| Battery capacity | 2000mAh | 1400mAh |
| Safety lock | Physical A-Lock | No A-Lock |
| Included coils | New B Series Boost coils | Previous B Series coils |
| Claimed coil capacity | Up to 40ml under test conditions | Approximately 20ml under test conditions |
The Hero 5 provides a clear upgrade for existing H45 users who want a larger battery, slightly higher output and the convenience of a physical locking switch. It maintains the compact Aegis pod-mod format while improving the areas that have the greatest effect on everyday use.
Why Choose the Geekvape Aegis Hero 5?
The Geekvape Aegis Hero 5 stands out by combining the durability associated with the wider Aegis range with the portability of a refillable pod kit. Its 2000mAh battery and 50W output provide considerably more performance than a basic pod vape, but the device remains easier to carry than a traditional high-powered mod and tank.
The replaceable B Series coil platform also gives you greater flexibility than an integrated-coil cartridge. You can continue using the same pod and change the resistance to suit different e-liquids, power levels and inhaling styles.
