About Freebase E Liquid

Vaping offers a wide array of different experiences, and as it has grown ever more popular the range of e-liquids has grown with it. However, freebase nicotine has stayed a consistent favourite amongst vapers ever since it was first created. It is the classic vape juice, loved by the traditionalists and the purists.

It originates from the 1960s, where it was discovered that changing nicotine from its natural salt state resulted in a more potent product. This change increases its pH level which is what creates the harsher throat hit that many vapers enjoy.

It’s become a popular choice amongst vapers as it's an effective way to enjoy higher potency without having to consume a higher dosage.

Freebase nicotine is more easily absorbed by the body, which means that it provides a quicker and more intense nicotine hit than other types of nicotine. It also produces a more harsh throat hit than other types of juice such as nicotine salts, which were invented after freebase e-liquids. In contrast, nic salts have a much smoother throat hit but can still be found in high nicotine contents. Neither is better or worse, as some vapers enjoy a harsher throat hit along with high nicotine strengths.

Like other e-liquids, it is composed of VG (vegetable glycerine) and PG (propylene glycol), available in a range of different ratios making freebase a great choice for either MTL or DTL. However, it’s generally available in lower concentrations of nicotine as the throat hit can be quite harsh at high strengths and because of this, it is commonly preferred by DL vapers.

Freebase E Liquid FAQs

Yes, freebase e-liquids can be used with pod kits but it is important to make sure you are using a freebase e-liquid with a higher PG ratio. Also, if you are using a freebase e-liquid with a higher nicotine strength than what your device is designed for, you may experience a harsh throat hit.

Freebase nicotine is an excellent choice of e-juice for those who are looking to reduce their nicotine consumption. They commonly have lower nicotine levels compared to nicotine salts, making them ideal for those who are attempting to quit their nicotine addiction. They also come in a variety of different VG:PG ratios making them great for both MTL vaping and sub-ohm vaping.

Although both fall under the umbrella term of an e-liquid, freebase and nic salts actually have some distinctive differences. Freebase e-liquids are the pure form of nicotine as it is extracted from the tobacco leaves, whereas nic salts are the organic form of nicotine. Nic salts are absorbed into the bloodstream faster, providing a quicker hit.

The harsh throat hit that is associated with freebase nicotine is because it’s the purest form, whereas nic salts have a smoother, more mellow throat hit. It is because of this more smooth throat hit that nic salts are developed with higher nicotine strengths, whereas freebase is typically found in lower concentrations because of its harshness. However, if you're trying to cut down on your nicotine consumption, freebase e-liquids might be a better option.

At the present time, there’s nothing to suggest that either e-liquid is harmful to vape. Both are just as safe as each other.
