IVG Pro Vs IVG Pro 2

The IVG Pro series comprises two very similar devices that use the same pods. One is commonly called the IVG Pro or Pro 12 and the other is the IVG Pro 2. Functionally they are near-identical; the differences are mainly in the device design and the screen behaviour.

What you get in the box

- Device body.

- Two pods (one contains the coil, the other acts as the reservoir).

Both devices use the same pod hardware and the refill pods are supplied in the same box style.

Setting up the IVG Pro pod

1. Remove the packaging and protective bags from the device and pods.

2. Take off the red protective pieces on the pod and peel away the film seals.

3. Push the pod halves together until they click into place.

4. Remove the small screen protector sticker on the device and any external side sticker.

That is all that is required to make the device ready to use; there are no additional onboard settings to configure.

Pro vs Pro 2 Design and screen differences

- IVG Pro: Minimal front indicator with a small light. No visible battery readout.

- IVG Pro 2: Larger front area with a touch-sensitive screen that shows animation and can display battery life and the flavour name.

Both devices share a sleep behaviour: the screen will go into sleep mode after around three minutes. On the Pro 2 you wake the device by touching the screen to view battery life and the animation. The Pro is lighter and has only the small light for status.

Pods, refills and compatibility

All pods in the Pro series are cross-compatible. A pod marked for the Pro will fit the Pro 2 and vice versa. Refills drop into the pod in the same way across both devices.

Practical notes and real use

- Assembly is straightforward and quick once you remove the protective pieces.

- The Pro 2 feels heavier and bulkier at the front due to the larger screen and animation hardware. Functionally this does not change pod performance.

- If being able to see battery level and the flavour name matters to you, the Pro 2 is the only model of the two that provides that information on the screen. If you do not need a display, the Pro offers the same pod compatibility in a simpler package.

Counterfeit packaging warning

There are reports of counterfeit IVG Pro products in circulation. The updated genuine packaging contains distinctive stamps and a QR code on the side. If packaging does not match the expected new-style stamps or lacks the QR code, it is best to avoid that product.
